The 82nd annual Academy Awards are tonight, and you can bet at WagerWeb.com on who you think all the bog winners will be. Oscar Odds Best Supporting Actor Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds) -3500 favorite.

Of course the Academy changed the rules this year to allow for 10 Best Picture finalists, up from five. There are a few reasons most believe why this change was made, with the No. 1 being television ratings. The Oscar telecast has been suffering from declining ratings over the past couple of decades, a last year’s show, which saw indie flick “Slumdog Millionaire” take the top prize, was the third least-viewed ceremony in 20 years. Oscar Odds 2010 Christopher Plummer (The Last Station) +2500 odds to win 2010 Best Supporting Actor.

Many fans were also outraged that “The Dark Knight” didn’t get a Best Picture nod, and with the success of that movie, it likely would have generated bigger TV ratings if it had been in the mix. For example, the highest-rated Academy Awards in history was the year that Titanic won Best Picture – and of course Titanic was the highest-grossing movie ever until James Cameron’s latest movie, Avatar, this year.
